Scope:  Design a simple and safe bench top semi-automated injection molding machine

Specification:  System must have the following:

• Clamping force of 1,000+ lbs.
• 2 hand no tie down pneumatic operation
• Digital temperature control
• Mold temperature up to 400F
• Power input – 110 V, 15 A
• Linear bearings for smooth operation
• Dampeners for slow / fast open / close cycling

Project:  Discreet Storage Case for Silicone Prosthetic

Scope:  Design a storage case and injection mold tool that protects a silicone prosthetic from being exposed to dust.  Storage case must have two additional pockets for storing two small bottles.  Case is not required to snap closed, should open easily and should be molded from a food grade polypropylene.

Specification:  System must have the following:

• Telescoping storage case
• Design a 1mm surface offset relief around part
• Two 65mm x 25mm diameter cylindrical voids for plastic bottles
• Insert mold – single core & single cavity in one mold insert
• P20 Tool Steel

Project:  Urethane Over-Molded Electronic Boards USB Socket & Plug

Scope:  Design a simple over-mold shape that is easy to clasp with fingers.  Electronic USB socket and plug are provided.  Design the tool that will allow for urethane to be injected into it.  There is a left side and a right side to the parts.

Specification:  System must have the following:

• Easy to plug and un-plug parts
• When plugged, parts should have very little gap to prevent water ingress
• Design a handed tool – 2 left cavities & 2 right cavities
• Prepare quote for Aluminum Tool and P20 Steel Tool
• USB Boards have ribbon cables that are part of the over-mold process
